Defense or health? Empty Defense or health?

What's better:
+1 defense
or
+160 hp?

I'm kind of thinking the hp since I don't believe my hero gets hit 160+ times in any battles.

What was the last thing you spent honor points on? Normally I find it best to spread out your spending.

I actually just spent HPs today on attack.
Health +240 (97 HP)
Attack +16 (871 HP)
Defence +5 (1944 HP)

As much as I like defence, I don't think its worth sacrificng 160 hp for 1 defence points.

Defense makes a lot of difference even its 1 point. Honestly, I prioritize increasing ATK and Def.

I'd just like to point out that +1 defense IS NOT -1 damage. Defense is based on a % formula where each point adds a certain amount of % damage mitigation.

In other words it's worth far more than -1 damage.

Uh, isn't the formula:

(attack - defense)*armor_advantage_multiplier?


I was wondering about that with heros though because based on that formula my hero should take -2 damage from a ninja.

Hero Armor :
The hero reduces damage in the following manner against all the attack types (Normal, Piercing and Magic )
Damage received = (Attack dmg of attacking units - Defense of Hero Armor)/2 = Final value , rounded down.
Eg. A level 2 Archangel (magic dmg 26) hitting a hero with defense 10.
Damage received = (26-10)/2 = 8 dmg on hit
Eg. 2 A level 3 Mage (magic dmg 17) hitting a hero with defense 10.
Damage received = (17-10)/2 = 3.5 dmg , rounded down to 3 dmg on hit.

I had a choise between Glory Gauntlets (+110HP, +2Def) and Shadow Claws (+3 Def) for Zerk.
I wear Shadow Claws now and that's why (IMHO):
1 Def = -1 Hero Attack = -2 unit (Normal, Piercing, Magic) attack
This mean that is I receive more than 55 (110/2) hits from units per round so better to take Shadow Claws.
Hope it's clear.

One more interesting thing:
I have hero with 17 Defence
Damage received from units = (Attack dmg - Defense of Hero)/2 = Final value , rounded down.
As an example mage with Attack dmg 30 hit hero
(30-17)/2=6.5=6
(30-18)/2=6
As for me this means no really big sence (for lowering damage from units!) to upgrade def +1, only +2
