Dizzy tactic Empty Dizzy tactic

Post by Darqus Sun Nov 04, 2012 11:06 pm

Think about it, ninjas hit 3 targets at once. Lvl 5 heavy hit rate gives like 15% chance to dizzy. Now you have 4 rows of ninjas, 24 ninjas, each has 3 shots with 15% chance to dizzy, its a 1080% chance to dizzy something with each attack. Now lets say that ninjas attack once per second, now you lvl up attack speed in ur research center, lvl 5 gives u 20% increased attack speed. Now you have 1296% chance to dizzy something each sec, now there can be a maximum of 6 different units in first row, so each of them gets 216% chance of getting dizzed each sec. Now all that is left for you is to level up ninjas, %hps, resistance and evansion to let ur ninjas survive spells and *****.

Happy stun locking Smile

Umm, not that I'm doubting the effectiveness of the tactic you are suggesting, but you need to learn your statistics.
If you have 72 targets, each with a 15% chance of dizziness, then the probability of dizzying at least 1 opponent is almost 1 (actually 99.9992%)
You expect to dizzy 10-11 opponents for each hit.

However you are forgetting something.
This only applies to attacking melee units; only 1 row of ninjas will attack ranged units. This limits the number of attacks to 16 only. It is 16 and not 18 because the top and bottom row ninjas have 2 targets each (4*3 + 2*2 = 16)
That means the expected number of dizzy hits is actually 2.4

This might be an effective strategy against melee units, however its a useless strategy against ranged units.

Sure but what if for example u put ur ninjas at the very last lines of ur formation just to save them for stun locking enemy berserk or moth after already cleaning the rest of units?

I think if berserker or behemoth is up to your last line, not much is gonna save ya Very Happy Besides, the hero would surely have either AA or IW backing it up, and they would tear up your ninjas before the hero even got to em Smile

Percentages don't really work that way.

Well.... if you were doing a "hero solo" strat and trying to burst down the wall, it could be effective. Put some spirits on your hero and use a formation like this:

N N N N N H H
N N N N N H H
N N N N N X X
N N N N N X X
N N N N N X X
N N N N N X X

Then the ninjas could possibly hold off ranged units and delay them attacking your wall while your hero bangs through.

Not saying it would work and his math is definitely a bit off, but it would be interesting to try.

I was curious about the dizzy/crit/slow on units that hit multiple targets (ninjas, angels, wheels) do we know for sure that the splash damage has a chance to stunn etc? Also I was curious if the larger units get a slight advantage to the proc rate of the stuns and stuff since people could use a wall of ninjas as mentioned.

Pretty sure splash damage can dizzy. I've seen stuff in the second and third row dizzy off my iron wheels.

I don't think they adjust anything for it though. One of the reasons people use troll/footman instead of knight or cyborg is because they can eat more splash damage. If they don't adjust for that, why would they adjust for proc rates on dizzy?

with this tactic your assuming that they will stack which isnt necessarily the case it could just be 15% per hit and thats it, its true that the more hits the more chances but it doesnt mean you could stun lock someone. furthermore you could only calculate the percentage on 1 unit you couldnt run it for the whole line, so even if it did stack on ideal conditions where 1 unit is getting hit 3 times in one second the chance of dizzy is only 45% at lvl 5, which is impressive but i dont think they do, i think you just are increasing the number of hits and therefore chances but thats about it

Now that I have heavy hit rate at level 5 I have to say that it is very possible to stun lock hero for a long time ;] I mostly use ninjas to clear arena battle that my hero couldnt solo because they are cheap and they build pretty quickly. I have had battles when enemy hero couldnt even pull one attack off because of the stuns despite him having resistance gems ^^ I don't really use the all ninjas formation tho, I prefer

M S A A N N N
S S A A M M N
S H H F N F N
S H H N F N F
S S A A M M N
M S A A N N N

I just put the
A A M M N
N F N F N
F N F N F
A A M M N
thing in front of enemy hero and its a 100% win in arena and sometimes in pvp
