New changes to Iron Wheels Empty New changes to Iron Wheels

Post by Camel Tue Jul 24, 2012 6:16 pm

There has been major changes to the health and attack power of the Iron Wheel unit. How do you think this will affect game play? Will we be seeing more people use them in formations for hit lists and arenas?

- LVL1: HP: 520, Attack: 42
- LVL2: HP: 593, Attack: 46

Previously, their lower attack and hp meant that three rows of footmen at front with mages and wolfriders behind were able to clear out the battle field without having any major losses- piercing attacks do lower damage to normal armor. I'm not sure three columns of footmen will be enough to defend their attacks now :\

With those kinds of upgrades to hp and attack i bet they will be used more often for sure. I may even start to build a few to use for those kind of stats.

I still don't think they will be used. Maybe in the lower levels. I used to use them for arena I even upgraded them once but I stopped using them when I got to level 30 and replaced them with wolf riders. The match goes by much faster. It is a major change though. The iron wheel's attack at level 2 is 32 and now its gonna be 46?! Neutral

Hm, we'll have to wait and see Smile. For my formations, its usually the iron wheels I have a problem with in arenas, (dont want any units dying lol) usually 1-2 mages will die when facing a heavy iron wheel formation Neutral.

Those stats does make the Iron Wheel a far more annoying opponent in arena, as long as it's in a mixed army. I wouldn't want even the second bounce hitting a cloth.

Mass Iron Wheels I just solo with my hero. That won't change. Laughing

Yeah the iron wheels are annoying in the arena. I just focus my spells on them and stock up on mages.

Its probably a close call seeing how much damage they take already from them, but usually a line of wolf riders will take out a iron wheel formation for me in the arena

Iron wheels are easy to take out but and I usually don't worry about them unless there levvel two or if there two rows them so the hard part is taking out the army infront but who knows how hard it'll be after the update

I'm level 35 and I've used Iron Wheels in my formation since level 21. I think they're awesome. I'm 8 rubies away from level 5 Iron Wheels too.

even with the changes i used Iron Wheel for arena purpose and only lvl 1 iron XD.
when i reach lvl 33 i stop using them, in the arena they doing ok but when come to pvp iron really suck, slow fire rate and easy to take down.. if the developer speed up their fire rate maybe i will think about it, but still angel do a better job XD

New changes to Iron Wheels Empty Re: New changes to Iron Wheels

I have never used Iron Wheels or Ninjas before, but now that the damage is so much higher I am making a new formation with the back row Shamans, next Iron Wheel, and then Ninjas or Mages depending if they have Cyborgs/Knights up front. And then 3 rows of whatever defence I need.

Previously I was using Wolf Riders and then Mages but now that IW do so much more damage it is well worth it.

Btw does anyone else think archangels are pretty much useless? I upgraded mages a couple times and if there are any knights or cyborgs on the feild they eat them up plenty fast enough.

IMHO angel is really good at the end game fight.. at lvl6 they have about 900+ hp & can deal good damage, but more importantly can hold up your hero

I've used the same formation for over 3,000 fights. I've just worked my way from the front line to the back line. I need one more level on the Iron Wheels and 3 more levels on the Shamans and my whole formation is level 6. Then I really need to upgrade my portal units.

Right now it is hard for me to decide if they are the most annoying in arena compared to arch & wolf riders because very few people have maxed it. Axe rider is my number 1 hate in arena followed by arch because axe keep kill my arch & arch keep kill my cyborg.

I have more trouble with the Iron Wheels if placed and leveled properly. The 3 hit damage is what makes it problematic. Sometimes I'll lose a Mage or an Archer due to the Iron Wheel, but I rarely lose to a Wolf Rider. It really helps playing Behemoth too because the Wolf Riders will focus their attack on him which leaves only 2 Riders at the bottom.

Levvel 5 knoights are way to wasy to take out and are probrably the most useless troop in the game. I have never wasted rubies on knights. I dont even own any knights. All I use is mages, angels, cyborgs, trolls and footmen..
